After Innocence By Wes Davis

Reminded of what I cannot remember - ever calling from beyond my reach. I must have stepped out of a place that’s gone forever, where I long to go to make my peace. Was it really a point of no return? Say it isn’t so.
chorus: And how I’ve tried to sing this song since the day I knew the innocence had gone. I cannot find those tears I cried on the day I found my innocence had died.
It’s really not a question of atonement or of finding where to pin the blame. I know I can’t afford to spend a single moment thinking I could ever win that game. But if facing the truth won’t make it right, nothing ever will.
[repeat chorus]
bridge: We are not the fallen angels of the legend or the gods upon the hill. We are what we are - enslaved or liberated by our will.
[repeat chorus]
